On 03/10 at the EGI2024 conference, the project TANGO - in this endeavour, coordinated by the Lisbon Council and supported by IDSA - hosted a workshop focused on the shared vision of creating resilient, trusted, and interoperable data spaces in collaboration with CEDAR, DIVINE, and DataMite. The speakers at the event discussed the synergistic approach these projects have adopted to address shared challenges in data management and connectivity across various sectors.
The workshop highlighted the collaborative nature of these projects, emphasising the shared goal of advancing secure and privacy-preserving data sharing.
Discussions explored how the combined efforts of TANGO, CEDAR, DIVINE, and DataMite are laying the groundwork for a new era of data-driven innovation. In particular, the workshop addressed three different areas:
Connector Interoperability
Participants delved into the topic of data space connector interoperability, discussing the design, evaluation, and implementation of these connectors to ensure seamless data exchange across sectors and platforms.
The session explored the importance of standardised approaches to connector development to facilitate data flows between different systems and organisations.
Cross-Project Synergies
The workshop highlighted the areas where these projects are working together to develop best practices, share knowledge, and establish scalable, trusted data-sharing frameworks.
Attendees discussed specific examples of collaboration, such as joint research efforts, shared toolkits, and aligned methodologies.
Policy Alignment
The session explored the alignment of these projects with the strategic pillars of the European Data Strategy.
Participants discussed how these projects collectively support the EU's goals of data sovereignty, transparency, and compliance by developing innovative technological solutions.
By fostering collaboration and knowledge sharing, this event contributed to the advancement of secure, interoperable, and energy-efficient data spaces, aligning with the European Union's digital sovereignty goals.
