The EU Open Data Days 2025 has been announced, scheduled for 19-20 March 2025 at the European Conference Centre in Luxembourg (ECCL) and online.

This event aims to bring together open data experts from both public and private sectors, along with professionals in related fields such as data visualisation and AI, to share their projects and insights.

The conference will showcase innovative and inspiring projects that leverage open data to positively impact society and improve lives. Speakers will be invited to deliver presentations and speeches on their work.

The event will focus on five key themes:

  1. Open data ecosystems and governance: projects exploring policy aspects of open data, including data governance, creation and management of open data spaces, and implementation of open data legislation.
  2. Data reuse and impact: initiatives demonstrating the reuse of open data from data.europa.eu, highlighting how open data supports policymaking, enhances transparency, and drives innovation across various domains. This theme also explores AI applications in open data analysis.
  3. Data access, quality, and interoperability: addressing technical challenges in making open data more accessible, interoperable, and usable.
  4. Data visualisation and communication: showcasing projects, tools, and technologies in data visualisation that facilitate communication of complex topics, promote better policy making, and increase citizen engagement.
  5. Data literacy and community building: initiatives aimed at fostering a strong community around open data.

Presenters should prepare for sessions lasting 20 to 35 minutes, which includes time for audience questions and answers. The exact duration will be finalised after the evaluation committee approves the proposal.

The submission deadline for proposals is 22 October 2024. Applicants will be notified of the outcome in November 2024, and the final presentation of the speech must be submitted by 28 February 2025.

This event promises to be a significant gathering for those interested in the future of open data and its potential to drive positive change across Europe.
